Transportation

Most Bronxites depend on our public transportation system to be able to go to work, school, make doctor’s appointments and take care of their families.  That is why Gustavo Rivera has fought to bring resources to our community that aim to invest in our transportation system and improve the safety of all commuters.

accomplishments:

  • Secured $1 million to conduct a study of the Kingsbridge and Jerome subway station to assess the cost of building a direct access point between the station and the Kingsbridge National Ice Center and the cost of making the station compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

  • Successfully advocated for a new stop for the BX9 bus that is away from West 230th Street Post Office, improving the safety of pedestrians, students and our postal services workers.

  • Helped improve the safety of pedestrians and motorist by working on the implantation of Vision Zero throughout various areas of the 33rd Senate District.

  • Hosted town hall meetings to discuss transportation issues in the 33rd Senate District.
